Mark Jeisman’s Home & Lifestyle Technology segment

The introduction of the ‘Many 2 One’ program at St Stephen's School.

Our Principal Mr Tony George, Mark Jeisman and Year 8 student Tara Jeisman offer some perspective from the parent’s point of view on this interesting and topical subject.

Many2one Update

Just a reminder of the iPad model we are recommending for the Many2one program for our year 7 and 8 students for 2012.

iPad 2 32Gig wifi only model.

We have been unable to secure educational pricing for the iPad so parents have the option to choose their own retailer.
St Stephen's School is not recommending any specific retailers as prices are similar across all Australian stores.
Please note that if you purchase an iPad online via the Apple Store you will receive free shipping and engraving.
In a school, engraving an expensive device safely and securely is worth having.

An Apple reseller which offers a specific iPad insurance option and leasing option is Winthrop Australia.

Many To One Program at St Stephen's School
Learning is a natural part of being human; that is what helps us to grow as people.Yet, the way we learn can be different depending on who we are, where we are and what we are learning. There is not really one solution that suits everyone.
At St Stephen’s School we grow people and we see teaching and learning as an opportunity to engage with each other in exciting learning experiences. Our use of technology is important in supporting these engaging learning relationships.
We are very excited about the introduction of our Many to One Program from 2012. We hope that staff, students and parents will be able to engage with each other using technology that is relevant to their particular needs. Whether it be iPads, laptops, iPhones should not really matter. What matters is the learning experience and the relational context.
In introducing this program we are encouraging each child in Years 7 and 8 to have access to an iPad during Semester 1, 2012. This is simply the starting point as no doubt the technology will keep on changing. The iPad will not replace what students learn. We hope it will enrich the learning experience and encourage our students to take increasing responsibility for their own learning.
